Carbon Neutral Certification

Becoming Net Zero

Green Park Carbon Solutions will….

  • Conduct a detailed analysis to determine a company’s carbon footprint
  • Assist in providing various techniques to reduce the above footprint
  • Give access to carbon credits and carbon credit generating projects to offset these GHG emissions
  • Help businesses achieve carbon neutral certification through the Australian Government’s Climate Active initiative.

Climate Active carbon neutral certification

Climate Active supports and guides businesses as they account for and reduce carbon emissions. Climate Active certification is awarded to businesses and organisations that have credibly reached a state of carbon neutrality.

How does offsetting work?

Carbon offset units are generated from activities that prevent, reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere such as reforestation, renewable energy or energy efficiency. One carbon credit is issued for each tonne of emissions avoided, removed or captured from the atmosphere. When the offsets purchased by an organisation (and retired’’) equal the emissions produced they are carbon neutral.

Offsets are more than carbon

While carbon offset projects prevent, reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere – that's not all they do.

Often these projects have other benefits such as environmental, social, cultural, economic, employment, improving health and education, and providing access to clean and affordable energy.

Why be Climate Active?

  • Climate Active certification sends a clear signal to your clients, customers and stakeholders that your business is committed to sustainability, innovation, and industry leadership. Climate Active certification is available for:
    • Organisations, Products, Services, Events, Buildings, Precincts
  • For your entity to be certified you must meet the requirements of the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard (formerly the National Carbon Offset Standard). Broadly, this means that to achieve certification you must measure emissions, reduce these where possible, offset remaining emissions and then publicly report on your achievement.

Certification allows businesses and organisations use of the Climate Active trade mark, helping consumers and the community to immediately identify products and services that are carbon neutral. The trade mark is a stamp of approval that carbon neutrality has been achieved in a credible and transparent way and gives Australian consumers confidence and trust in a brand’s carbon neutral claim.*

GREEN PARK has an extensive team of internal and external consultants, engineers, environmentalists, accountants, and lawyers that allows us to walk you through the certification process.
